tyger tyger

The title is the incipits of a masterpiece of poetry, The Tyger by William Blake.

“Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the woods of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame your fearful symmetry?”

In this composition Francesca Bianchi sought the perfect balance between two opposing elements, and the expression of their stark contrast.
He had in mind a post-apocalyptic condition, where traces of a highly sophisticated and refined civilization survived in the dark and frightening condition of a collapsed and destructured world.
Blake's Tyger embodies both the qualities he wanted to represent: sublime and irresistibly attractive on the one hand, and terrible and frightening on the other.

The perfume is built around a narcotic white floral accord with sweet-fruity facets, which also includes a Tuberose absolute – like a cousin donna, the protagonist of a dramatic piece, is the finest example of a refined civilization from a bygone world; in contrast, the base notes feature various types of woods, with some burnt and leathery qualities, referring to a post-apocalyptic scenario of destruction, mystery, and darkness.

The result of these parts – which wouldn't work individually – is a crisp, contrasting fragrance that gives me a thrilling feeling of highly dramatic sophistication – the kind of contrasting feeling that anything attractive evokes in us.

Note : narcotic flowers, honey, peach jam, patchouli, sandalwood, oakmoss, oud, leather, heliotropin.
