The Mariner's Rhyme

For lovers of Francesca Bianchi's signature, the animalic-powdery theme recurs, albeit more subtly. The animalic note in this composition is ambergris. The fragrance has a transparency and brilliance that differentiates it from Francesca Bianchi's earlier creations.

It's a unisex fragrance: fresh and transparent on one side, and dense and structured on the other. The citrusy, ozonic opening has a crisp, modern character, reinforced by the sharp edge of aldehydes. We're out at sea, but a hint of orange blossom can be detected in the background, drifting in from the mainland.
Saline ambergris and metallic aldehyde combined with oakmoss evoke the flavor of the oyster shell, as well as the shady depths of the sea.
The transparency of the ozonic accord is transformed into a more opaque and thick accord, thanks also to the iris, to which is added an almost sacred and mystical character, evoked by the elemi and incense.
