More than a thousand Mediterranean trees are housed in the cathedral-like galleries of the Limonaia. Built by the King's architect to impress the courtiers, this tree-lined space became a theatrical setting for court entertainment. Inside, gardeners lit fires to keep the trees warm, so that when the Sun King visited, the intoxicating scent of the burning wood mingled with his beloved orange blossoms, exuding a generous aura.

Heart Notes: Honey, Florentine Iris, Musk, Cedar Wood
Base Notes: Woodsmoke, Cade Wood, Oislet de Chypre Accord (a resinous accord dating back to the 17th century)
L'Or de Louis is an olfactory snapshot of Louis XIV's Grande Limonaie, where the golden fragrance of orange blossoms mingles with the smoke of burning wood from the bonfires lit by gardeners to encourage the trees to blossom. It includes cosmetic-grade, toxin-free 24-karat gold flakes.
