The Okavango in Botswana, the "river that never reaches the sea," gives the region the appearance of a tree resting on the sand, its countless roots tracing an aquatic labyrinth reshaped daily by the whims of the water. On the banks of these numerous waterways grow vegetation with the most diverse scents. From papyrus to acacia to sycamore, this flora is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, fueling the imagination without ever satiating it.
I wanted to create a fragrance that was an ode to acacia. I enhanced its sweet, honeyed side, adding the sunny, powdery notes of wooly caper and the green notes of papyrus that line the delta's banks. The woody notes of sycamore and mopane and the fruity notes of marula close the composition, giving the fragrance a soft and captivating touch.
