Named for the small Turkish village of Halfeti, overlooking the banks of the Euphrates. In spring, the surrounding valleys fill with the fragrance of the extremely rare black rose, which grows and is cultivated only in those areas. This rose species blooms in tiny quantities, only once a year, and has an unusual characteristic that sets it apart: its petals are dark red when first opened, turning unmistakably black as they finish blooming. An opulent, floral, woody, warm, and intriguing composition... the red roses appear black, so intense that it is their magic.
The opening of this fragrance is fresh and vigorous: bergamot, hints of greenery, and the aromatic notes of Artemisia. It evolves with gusto thanks to jasmine and spicy rose—this love has thorns. The finish carries all the promise of distant lands, with the certainty of vanilla and sandalwood, the spiciness of leather, and a much more reassuring blend of Oud, amber and patchouli. It is an exquisitely opulent, dazzling woody floral. Perfumer: Christian de Provenzano.
