June 1660, Pheasant Island, Basque region, on the border between France and Spain.
To ensure peace between them, the two Royal Courts converge in a richly furnished pavilion constructed of pine and freshly cut cedar. On the French side, amidst a golden aura of irises, roses, and jasmine, a young Louis XIV emerges, starched and composed, eager to glimpse his new bride, the Infanta Maria Teresa.
Notes include:
Orange blossom, Florentine iris, jasmine, white cedarwood.
