A naturalist fragrance that declares the elegant masculinity of a single flower worn on the lapel of a jacket.
May 1899, Foyer of the Opéra-Comique, Paris. During the opera intermission, a group of seven young men gather in the Grand Foyer, seeking new flirtations. The women are drawn to the crisp, green scent of the men's gardenia boutonnieres, enhanced by the bergamot and lavender colognes they wear. As they approach, the "Flower of the Opera" exudes his elegant masculinity, the last breath of a flower sacrificed on the lapel of an evening gown.
Notes include: Lavender, bergamot, Italian mandarin, gardenia jasminoides/gardenia citriodora duo, genet absolute, vetiver, oakmoss.
